As an international company, Molycop can offer talented employees fantastic opportunities to build their skills in a global context.  One such employee, Daniel Sáez, has been seconded from his position as Senior Financial Analyst in Chile to the Group Internal Audit team in Sydney.

Daniel’s manager, Lance Dawber, identified his potential, and sought out the opportunity for Daniel to build his understanding of the Molycop business while also improving his English skills.  “Daniel is a future finance leader within Molycop, with this secondment he will build his skills and his network of contacts within Molycop which will be beneficial for any role he may move into in the future.  It is also a great opportunity for Daniel and his wife Marjorie to enjoy and learn more about Australia while on secondment,” Lance said.

Over the last six months, Daniel has worked with the Internal Audit team across Molycop sites within Australia.  As well as his auditing responsibilities, Daniel is also able to identify and share best practice, and brings a range of personal and financial skills to the role.  Quickly improving his English, Daniel credits his new team for helping him and Marjorie settle in Sydney.

“The team here is very multicultural, with people from Chinese, Sri Lankan and Indian backgrounds, and they have made me feel very welcome,” Daniel said.  “This has been the best opportunity I have ever been given for my career development, and it has also been one of the best opportunities for me personally.”
